well in math it's pretty much a the universal standard for an unknown. reminiscent of Faraday's whole "it's the variables that change not the constants" in time travel speech that he made towards the end of last season.
seems obvious to be a pun to me, based on the fact that it looks from the season 6 promos like they changed everything. and probably landed in LA instead of crashing.

locke (after he died) and jack's dad were just the smoke monster taking the form of the dead (it only appears as dead people; yemi, ben's dead daughter, etc.)
the smoke monster is the dude (probably the god of the dead) trying to find the loophole to kill jacob (probably the god of the living)
the loophole is probably something like need someone with faith and good intention to kill jacob

Hey yeah so I just finished watching every episode back to back, 2 or 3 a night and I finished last night
man this IS the best show ever.
I believe we should write down everything that hasn't been answered
-what happened to claire
-why is jacks dad running around the island, is it the same person controlling fake lock? jacobs friend? Maybe HE NEEDS a dead body on the island (christian and lock) in order to BE THEM.
-the numbers
-why the other bunker on the opposite side of the island blew up
-polar bears (and that huge bird that swooped down and said Hurley name)
-why did they need michels son, did he really create those polar bears from the magazine he was reading? It wouldn't make sense because in the '70's' they were talking about polar bears showing up.
-did jacob(and his people) really build all these structures? there a little too white looking
-the black smoke AKA the security guard, it didn't kill ruso's people (french lady), the dude was all like "That? that's the security guard for the temple" and obviously they escaped him
-why did the black smoke kill echo, come on now..is it just because he didn't agree with him?

sheebobee come on now can you honestly see them punking us all like that? no way, the writers haven't let us down so far so i will keep my faith in them to deliver an ending that this series deserves
there isn't even a whole lot of questions that need to be cleared up anymore, it will all come down to the island's past, Jacob vs unknown man, and the overarching reason everything happened the way it did

and then have the last series show their lives without the crash
they can't answer all the questions in the series in just one season

I don't want the bomb explosion, as in the "make it so we never crashed on the island" to be the ending of the series. Sure there's still have a whole season ahead but what if it's all planned into making the crash never happen.
It would most likely be disappointing. Though clever, and it wouldn't exactly leave you stumped (as always), I doubt I would enjoy seeing it end that way.
